Just used Ninja 2 with 5D mark iii for first time. I setup the menu, mirroring, etc. as it should be, at least according to Mr. Stefan Czech. I offloaded mov files from 5D and from Ninja 2. In Mac's Finder 5D files have standard QT thumbnail instead of screenshot thumbnails. When I play them on Mac's Quicklook (Preview in Finder), I get solid black for video. Audio is there, video isn't.
Now, to confuse you further, when I transferred the Ninja 2 mov files to MacPro I see the proper thumbnail, but I also only get black in the window. The playbar moves, but no image.
Then, using QT to open the Ninja 2's 4.2.2 mov files, I get black and the playbar does nothing.
However, when importing those 4.2.2 mov files into Final Cut Pro, all is good. Go figure.
So have I lost my footage? No. Can I tell what is what w/o bringing it into FCP? No. Still stinks, but more than anything, makes me uneasy b/c I know this can't be right. I have not encountered this with 5D files shooting w/o the Ninja 2, nor have I encountered it on Ninja 2 files when shooting on C100.
