Issue and work around using P2 Log Pro

I have an issue with ingesting a few P2 clips into FCP and I'm trying a work around using P2 Log Pro software and need some help. Here's the issue:

One of our editors imported most of his P2 clips okay, but a few of them are giving him issues. The problem is that these very relevant few clips are crashing his FCP 5.1.4. So, we first tried the clip repair feature that P2 Log Pro software offers (Imagine Products). Once repaired, we tired re-ingesting into FCP and to no avail. The same thing happened.

Next, we tried use the P2 Log Pro software to create Quicktimes of the clips (a cool feature that I just discovered). This seemed like a good work around in theory as it was only a few clips. However, and this is where my current sticking point is...when I create the QTs from P2 Log, I'm having what appears to be random successes as some of the clips convert to QT and others fart out. It seems as if the smaller size clips are converting okay. But when I get to clips that are about 12 min + in length, the P2 Log software tells me that there's an error that could not produce a QT.

So...my first guess is that this is perhaps a memory issue in my laptop, but I'm not really sure as the P2 Log software error message is very vague about the type of error this is. I have about 16 GB left on my Powerbook. Would any one else have a suggestion (or confirmation) on this? Has anyone used this software and converted the P2 files into QTs?

More specifically, I would really like to better understand why I couldn't ingest these clips into FCP to begin with. Why do some import and some not? For now, I'll settle for the band-aid and this QT workaround if I can figure this QT issue out.

Thanks.

Well, scratch the memory idea. I got my laptop to about 25 GB and that still didn't seem to remedy anything. So, I still have these clips that I'm trying to convert to QT via the P2 Log software because FCP can't ingest them. I can see and play them in the P2 log software. Just can't seem to convert them for FCP. The clips are about about 3 to 5 GB in size.

I also just tried importing the repaired clips into another FCP system (this one is 5.0.4) and got this error message:

One or more P2 clips failed to import; probably incomplete or corrupt clips.

Anyone, please???
