Is working on PC and Mac with adobe cs5 possible?

This might be a dumb question, but i couldn't find a straight answer. With the fall semester around the corner , i need a new laptop. i have always been a PC guy, i built a monster PC workstation just before the af100 came out so i can use cs5 to edit avchd. I am now looking at a mac book pro 15inch or 17. would my workflow transfer easily from mac to pc if i am working with cs5?

thanks

Yes .. I use MacDrive on the PC so I can use the Mac formatted drives on both systems. The files are interchangeable.

There are some pitfalls in what you intend..

You will need two versions of Premiere. (ie BUY 2 versions)
Some FX are not available in Mac version
You will be in an avi as well as a QT edit world ( this can work fine but needs a bit of planning for)
With Mac fotrmatted drives you can easily hit file size limitations ( taht also need planning for.

.....

Just to clarify a few things:

-You can use Prores on the Mac and Windows. You just need to install the Prores QT decoder for Windows and it works fine. However, you cannot export TO Prores on Windows.
-If you store your media files on a central location or simply copy them to both machines over the network, then there is no need for MacDrive or any other software. You'll just have 2 copies of the same media on both machines -- not a big deal.
-As stated, I believe you will need to purchase two copies of Adobe - 1 for Mac and 1 for Windows. In addition to this, you should have the exact same plugins installed on both.

Other than that, you should be good to go. Transcode to Prores on the Mac and use that footage on both machines.

I'd consider sticking with PC laptop for PPro. I think the consensus might be that PPro runs better (slightly) on PC than Mac. Asus makes some very strong laptops.

Personally I'd recommend staying PC. I'm currently running the CS5.5 suite on a Dell XPS 17 (L702x) It's a veritable beast! I have several colleagues who edit with macbook pros and they are quite jealous of my laptops welly :)

17" 1920 x 1080 screen
I7 2.9 Ghz Hyper threaded quad core processor (8 separate cores)
16 gig ram
3Ghz Nvidia Geforce GT 555m graphics card
3gbps external esata connection
Dual hard drives

It's a bit of a monster :) and it's priced far more reasonably than equivalently speced Macbooks.
