Is Wikimedia Commons a site where I can get free images?

[Angelshare1]

I need an image of a Beretta M82 rifle.

One of these big guys. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:M82A1_afmil.jpg

Shutterstock and Image Shack don't seem to have what I'm looking for. Are images on Wikimedia Commons royalty free? (This link is to wikipedia but the pic is from Wikimedia Commons.)

I don't really understand how that works. Is Wikimedia Commons only supposed to be used for more fair use type projects like education and news articles?

I have a scene in my movie that takes place in a gun control organization and I'm making a political poster for the background. (I'm pretty sure I wouldn't fall under fair use.)

The file page indicated the image is in the public domain.

I have a M99 here if that doesn't work.

Feel free to use this pic.

BTW, that's a Barrett. LOL, Beretta is a whole different firearms manufacturer, primarily pistols and sub-guns.

The page says right there it's public domain:

" This image or file is a work of a U.S. Air Force Airman or employee, taken or made during the course of the person's official duties. As a work of the U.S. federal government, the image or file is in the public domain."
