GH4 Is V-LOG Worth it?

I've been reading a lot of articles and form posts stating that V Log is useless when shooting internal 8-bit on the GH4. I purchased the Leeming LUT back when I was working with a G7 earlier this year.. am I best to just use that and Cine D? $97 is enough to put into a nice second hand lens.. i do not understand why panasonic didnt just offer this for free given the Sony cams of the same price range offer Slog2/3 for free... stupid marketing if you ask me.

I was thinking about hooking my KiPro into the GH4 and seeing how DCI 10bit 4:2:2 downconverted to 1080p looked... im sure V Log would look nice then.

Yes, the general consensus is that VLOG internal on the GH4 is unusable for any pro work. Bad magenta, green artifacts and banding. The Leeming LUT with Cine D is much better. V-log is good recorded externally at 10-bit.
