Hi All,

I see a lot of people using the Tokina 11-16 and I am taking alot of this forums feedback. I ended up ordering the Voigtlander (excited), next is the Tokina, I found it here

Wanted to make sure this the right lens? I mean it's exactly what people say they are using, but it seems well priced so wanted to double check. If i'm totally wrong can someone point me to the right lens?

Cheers,

Sean.

Thanks Simon, that's a great shot. Ade4all that was great advice, since I'm completely new to af100 & these lenses that helped as I was going to buy a canon mount.

I did google Nikon g adapter but mostly finding Nikon to EOS. Is there a particular brand or place I can buy it for the Nikon to Af100?

Cheers.

This lens is really great. Im shooting a doc in Kentucky with it right now. Good quality glass, solid build, rugged, sharp, versatile, and great price. Novoflex adapter for Nikon mount is perfect match. No regrets.Z

I know that some people may not feel it's worth the extra money (roughly 4x the cost of the standard Tokina) - but if you want a built-in aperture ring, PL mount, focus/zoom/aperture gears, and a significantly more rugged housing - the Duclos rebuild of the Tokina 11-16mm is really, really sweet.

They truly transform it into a high-end motion picture lens.

Thanks guys, the clip was shot on an AF101 using the Tokina lens discussed for a short film I am in the middle of making:

I use a Hague HDV jib (with tilt control), amazing value for money if you don't overload the head. The trick is to mount all the additional stuff off the main head (ninja, remote follow focus receiver + batts) using a superclamp /arm set up.
Focus was using a hocus-focus remote system - too noisy for sync sound, but the whole film is being looped anyway.
The Tokina is an ideal lens for jib work - nice and wide, very light and close focusing - as seen in the clip.
I will no doubt be contributing more footage and my thoughts in a later post!
Cheers,
Si
