Is This Normal?

Below is a screen capture from a music video I shot. If you notice the bottom you will see that the floor (wich was perfectly flat) starts to curve up in the image. Is this type of lens distortion normal with the DVX100B? If not can it be fixed?

Was your zoom at the wide angle end of the zoom range? If so, it could just be normal disortion from a wide angle lens. Distortion from that would be just like you see -- horizontal lines would be most distorted near the bottom and top edges of the frame, and vertical lines would be most distorted near the left and right edges of the frame.

yea its normal.

thats the byproduct of the dvx/hvx having a nice wide wide angle side of the zoom range. it distorts a little. you can fix it in post.

there should be a plugin that makes "fisheye" look. ususallly that plug in can do the opposite to. it can make the image look concave. do that slightly, and it corrects the distortion.

If i remember correctly from TV it's a 'pin cushion' effect. I've seen plug ins to fix this but can't give details. Maybe someone will give better details.
Edit: Oops, takes Tims advice first. Ha.
