1 x 16GB R-Series P2 card

3 extended charge batteries - 1 Panasonic and 2 eBay cheapies

All the P2 are the more expensive and reliable R-Series cards.

Camera has 513 hours on it.

What do you guys think?

Canadian.... currently I shoot with a DSLR rig but am moving forward with more professional projects which require a faster system for more dedicated video applications

I have shot with HVX 200's and HPX 170's...... I dont mind either, prefer Sonys EX series as I like my 1920.... and decent lcd resolutions but alas this seems like a good deal.... however I see a lot of HVX 200's going for less than 2 grand.... are the extras worth it...????

PRICE IS CANADIAN DOLLARS

Its a good deal, and im sure you can negotiate a bit. The weird thing is DSLR seems to be the next step after a hvx for most people. To me, I would prefer to spend that money on a better DSLR. If you are getting funny looks because the DSLR is small and non pro looking, then putting together a cage or shoulder rig with tons of things sticking out and a matte box will increase the pro look. It wont be long before clients are used to seeing dslr and for $4k you could go for a gh2 or a 5dm2.

Seems a bit high to me. You can probably negotiate. i just sold my Hvx200 today for $1,700 with a water resistant case, 2 p2 cards, barry green dvd, 2 batteries and only had 244 hours on it with no scratches whatsoever. Dude looked at it and thought it was new at first glance. Looks like you're mostly paying for a bunch of p2 cards and batteries in that offer. I remember doing entire short films off just 2 4GB cards and shooting in 720pn. I guess it depends on what you're shooting though...if you're gonna be doing weddings and stuff like that then i guess you need all the GB's you can get....but $4k for an hvx200? used? Nah. That's a hell of a deal for the seller though. Man.

i agree with the above post too about hvx users typically upgrading to the DSLR. i've noticed that some clients seem to be wowed by anything that looks big and bulky for some reason (not that the hvx is bulky)...you could be shooting to TAPE and they just see a big camera and think you're the real deal, lol. Good luck either way...I'd negotiate or keep looking though.

you'd probably get 2200 if you sold on ebay. You have a lot of p2, but 4gb p2 is useless and IMO non Oem batts aside from dvxuser batts are unpredictable. Without he p2 it would be worth 1700 ish. There are to many of these on the market so there pretty cheap.

According to google you need 973 canadian to equal 1000 usd so the prices i stated would be even a little lower.
