GH2 Is this a defect?

I just got my brand new GH2 with 14-140 lens.
I noticed one thing which I am not sure is by design or a defect.
When I tried to shot a picture of a very dark room, my gh2 would not take picture.
No matter how hard I press the button. It just would not shot.
When I aimed it to a little bit brighter spot then my camera will take picture.
I tried different shooting mode, they are all the same.
Can some one tell me this is by design or it is a defect?

Thanks,

No it is not a fault. It sounds like you have focus priority on. Go into custom menue 1/2. If it is on 'you can not take a picture until the subject is bought into focus'. Page 131 of the manual PAL manual for UK.

geez, just because you have week fingers you think it's panisonics fault, you should have eatin your wheaties. It seems if you cant press the button, maybe you should try with a hammer. Give it a good hit, im sure then it will snap the pic then. lol. Im joking with you. I thought it was funny when you said "no matter how hard I pressed the button"

Martin,

Thank you very much. It is the focus priority causing the problem.
Once I turned it off. I can shot no matter how dark it is.

And no matter how out of focus it is. Focus Priority actually controls a lot more than that as well. It controls burst rate shutter speed and whether the camera refocuses during burst mode.
