Is this 16x9 or 4x3?

I entered a film in a festival and the director is telling me it is 4x3 which I find puzzling. Please tell me where I went wrong.

I shot my footage in HD using the Canon XH-A1, after my sequence was complete in Final Cut Pro I exported it using Compressor> advanced format conversion> 1080p60>. Then I opened iDVD clicked the 16x9 version and made my dvd. How could this not be 16x9? It has to be, right?

I am re-doing the dvd tonight any advice would be appericated. Thanks.

Why are you using iDVD for a film festival?

DVD SP together with Compressor provides more control over encoding of video and audio.

I don't know how to make a simple dvd using dsp, that is the reason. Is there any "basic" and I mean "basic" links how to make a dvd, using dvd studio pro? :dankk2:

Just open DVDSP go to "add assets" and select your files you ran through compressor (the mpeg 2 file and the audio file). Then drag then onto the timeline of Track 1. Delete the Menu if you just want it to autostart. Press the Build button and when thats done just go to Burn. That's about it.

Sure here's a really straightforward example:

Hi Noah, thanks for this link. A few quick questions, do you have a link for DVD Studio Pro 1 (not 2). I need a link that will instruct me on how to put a couple of my short films on it, and I don't want it to automatically start playing (the link above was for a film to start playing and continue to loop, and with just one film on it.)

That's DVDSP 4 actually. It's time to update my friend... :)

go to lynda.com and sign up for the thirty day trial period, you will then have access to their library full of video tutorials on every software you can think of including DVD Studio Pro (the earlier versions included)

dstp isn't as hard as it looks, i thought it was gonna be hard as hell but once you know what you're looking at then there's really only but so many places where you can screw up...if you know FCP then dvstp should take you no time to figure out.
