is there any way to do this with a dvx?

Sure... but it's going to be tougher to get those results. With some practice and experimenting, I've seen some pretty good stuff come out of the DVX. Play with shutter speeds and settings, bring into your NLE and speed it up... or better yet, take it into after effects (or similar) and play around with motion blurs, and speed ramping, and you quickly get the hang of it.

Can't find anything off the top of my head, but it's definitely doable.

What are you on uga? FCP, premiere, vegas, etc...

In FCP, click on the clip in the timeline, press apple "J" to bring up speed percentage, speed up or down to your preference. I'm sure it's that easy in any of the mentioned systems, just different ways to go about it...

i'm using sony vegas.

Hold down control and drag the end of an event either direction. To the left will speed the clip up and to the right will slow it own.

You can also insert a velocity envelope and specify a % increase from 0 to 300%.

edit - Also, there's no reason to shoot 60i if you're going for fast-motion.
