FS100-to-FCP 720/50p workflow?

sorry in advance if this topic has been discussed,
Has anyone sucessfully taken some slow mo 50fps footage from the firestore into fcp?

how is this done?

i know of p2 log and have sucessfully worked with it to import 720 50p with a p2 card.

But with fs100 you need the frame converter from fcp5.1 and it seems that this only has support for 60p....(i may be wrong about this)

any ideas/experience on the subject would be great.

thanks

If i'm right, firestore only supports 720p 50 so just slow down 50% in post to get same effect as 25pn at 50fps.

According to the HVX manual, there is no signal to the 1394 terminal when you set to Native Mode. The signal goes only to the P2 slot. So I'd be interested to learn if Anarkic is getting his overcranked signal to the Firestore.

Yes you can overcrank to the firestore, you just have to use "over 60" mode and then process the footage in post with the frame rate converter utility.

thanks for the info guys,

this issue has put me off the firestore - simply because there doesn't seem to be an easy workflow

it appears that the framerate converter cannot deal with 50p (unless i'm mistaken)

so is this the only way ? : converting mxf files using p2 log, then importing to fcp, -then slowing it down , then rendering, then exporting - then finally ready to edit....

seems awfully long winded for a supposedly tapeless and quick workflow

think i'm gonna get a couple of 8gb cards and a p2 store instead - much quicker and cleaner for us poor neglected pal users :(
