GH3 Is there any viable alternative for the Speed Booster?

Soon I'm buying some Samyang primes with a Nikon mount, to use on the GH3. I was always planning to buy a Speedbooster, but they're pretty expensive in my country. €500,00 to be precise.

That would make it more expensive than any of the lenses :D
Alright, I might get tax reduction and will not have to pay the BTW / VAT, but still. Ordering it from the US will introduce other problems, like customs fee, import tax and whatever. The difference won't be big I think.

So what about the Chinese cheap alternatives? What's the concencus on these things? Good quality?
And is there any option to fit Nikon lenses on M43 camera's already? Or is the Speedbooster still the only way to go?

Do you guys think the price of the Speedbooster is worth it?
My plan is to buy a Samyang 16mm f2.0 / 35mm f1.4/ / 85mm f1.4
With the speedbooster I would 'add' 3 more focal lenghts to the mix and would turn it into 'the complete package'.
11mm f1.4 / 24mm f1.0 / 55mm f1.0

And all that for the price of 1 Speedbooster... If only it was 200 euro cheaper :)

So, any alternative? What do you guys think?

Didn't somebody do a test between the metabones speed booster and the cheaper chinese alternative versions on here a little while back? As I recall, the speed booster yielded considerable better image quality.

Why order from the US? It looks like the guys selling here on ebay would probably ship to Holland.

Thanks Mike.
395 Pound is roughly €466.
If I buy it in Holland and get the BTW back from the tax service, I pay around €395... Which I still think is a lot of money for 'what it is'. But 'what it does' is amazing...

According to the article, they say they've improved on some of the quality issues... but time will tell. But as far as I know Lens Turbo is the only alternative to the Speed Booster as of right now.

Has anyone heard anything about an EF-M43 speedbooster with electronic control like the Nex version? I often rent a C300 for some gigs and would love to be able to buy EF lenses for both my GH3 and the rented C300.

I've had my eye on the Sigma 18-35 in Nikon because of the speed booster but wish I could just go EF.

Yes, they are releasing one (supposedly at the end of the year). According to Metabones though, the autofocus will be very slow and not really usable for tracking action if thats why you want the EF version. I think the Nikon mount speedbooster with smooth aperture control is the one to go for though.

It's not the one to go for if like lots of us you have a load of EOS lenses. We need electronic control on EF-MFT speedbooster not because we want AF but because the EOS lenses have no aperture ring so aperture must be controlled from the camera.
