Is there another way to get DVCPro HD to my Mac without dumping the P2?

So I have the HVX200...and I have a PC laptop...and I have an external hard drive...and I have my Mac and PC networked so I can see the hard drive from both.

However, I find it kind of annoying to have to dump on the laptop to the external, then put it on the Mac.

I don't know if it's in the documentation, as it is all boxed up somewhere. I don't feel like digging through my storage room to get it. Anyway, can I just connect the camera to the Mac via firewire or something (USB 2.0?) and just dump them that way?

Sorry this is a brutally n00bish question...

Yes you can connect to the mac via firewire to transfer the files directly if you have the camera in fwire mode and not usb mode. you can do the same with the pc but use usb for the pc (mac prefers fw pc prefers usb)
Keep your manual with your camera. It's not a blender, there's alot of information in the manual. Like the step by step instructions to do this.
Also buy Barry's HVX Book its worth the $85 usd and it fully explains most of the camera functions in plain english rather than the manusls technical format.

Yeah I ended up grabbing the manual and tucking it safely in my desk. It's just been chaos around here lately.

Thanks for the help, I had it figured out a bit prior to your reply :)

Glad I can do it this way, though. Makes it a lot nicer.
