Is there an ideal F-stop for the HMC-150?

Odd, open ended question: Is there an ideal F-stop for the HMC-150 where the image is at its crispest? Obviously, one wants the image lit correctly, but does the F-stop impact image quality beyond that. (I know lower f-stops make a shallower depth of field but not much beyond that as how it impacts image quality.)

It's not that different across the f-stop range. The very most open and most-closed stops will show a bit of loss, but it's really even across the range from f/2.8 to about f/8 at least.

Does this mean it's a bad idea to lower the f-stop below 2.8 in order to shorten the depth of field? I sometimes do that.
