GH2 is there a way to see the distance (m/ft) in the display?

two newbie-questions: when i focus manualy my af101 displays the distance. the gh2 does not. right? or wrong setting?
is there a way to change aperture more smoothly (like the wheel at the af101)?

Thomas... I think that's the big difference between the AF and the Gh2... The wheel and the functionality. The one thing that does help is having an ND fader.. That provides a lot more usability.

The GH2 does have a "cartoon" distance scale at the bottom of the screen in manual focus mode, with a flower (near focus) at one end, and mountains (infinity) at the other. It has no distance scale in feet or meters. Not very useful.

Good video illustrating this from BananaMana at: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wKNIQCk4lqA

It's not as useful as an actual scale but it's much much better than nothing, great improvement over GH1. Firstly because you know when you're at close focus or infinity and you know about how long it will take you to get there (good for photography) and great for video because you can use it like a follow focus using either onscreen reference points (one line's width to the left of the 1 in f/1.7 for example) or by sticking pieces of tape on the bottom bezel of the LCD screen. Basically you get a little on screen follow focus, which is nice because focus by wire lenses aren't great with a follow focus. I've used it to pull focus accurately during a guerilla night shoot with the 20mm f/1.7.
