GH2 Is there a way to lock the shutter speed?

Is there a way to lock the shutter speed with the GH2? It's pretty annoying that you can knock the shutter speed off by accident. Sometimes I'm shooting and I see that I have mistakenly gone up or down from 1/50 because it's so easy to touch the little wheel on the top right by accident. It also happens with aperture when using Lumix lenses if the wheel is set to aperture. Is there a way to lock that wheel or at least the shutter speed somehow when in creative movie mode?

I wish there is a way to lock down the shutter speed too when doing video. Unfortunately, I don't think you can do that with GH1/GH2/GH3, at least I could not find a way to do it........ I will be more than happy that some one tells me that I am wrong.

I'm sorry to hear that. If I could get a buck for every time I accidentally shot with the wrong shutter because of this problem, I could buy me a brand new RED camera.

Hopefully somebody will jump in a say we are wrong and that you can indeed lock it.

I wish you could lock the shutter speed as well, I recently messed up a couple of clips by shooting 1080 60fps and leaving my shutter at 50 when I need at least 100+ to have smoother slow motion when conforming... I would love to have an option to set it automatically to 125 when I switched to 60fps.

Panasonic I hope you're hearing us....

I'd like this too.
Noticed after about an hour of shooting after lunch on an interview that I had knocked it to 150 when I wanted 40.
Seriously pissed off.

There's no free lunch. The GH2, GH3 may make great images, in the right conditions, and they may be a lot of bang for your buck etc. But they are not professional video or motion picture cameras. You get what you pay for, even if with the GH2 this is almost not true.

I would love to have an option to set it automatically to 125 when I switched to 60fps.

With a dedicated digital cinema camera you could just set the shutter to 180° and it would change automatically for all frame rates, just like a film camera. But you can't expect that from a camera which the main purpose is too shoot stills and even at that, it's not a fully featured professional stills camera. This from a GH2 user who has two of them little guys and loves the footage from them. We need to be realistic.

ive done this a few times. what i do now is switch it to aperture so that gets bumped accidentaly if it ever does instead of shutter.

Phew, I'm glad I'm not the only one to have done this!

I mainly use manual lenses so I think I generally switch to aperture, but at times I have forgotten so I'm going to make a New Year's Resolution to do this all the time.

On the GH3 I think you can change it to the upper wheel, I'm sure I did that to try and avoid this accident.

How do you do that? When I use non Lumix lenses like Nikons, the wheel can only be set to shutter speed as it can't control the aperture. This is in creative movie mode.
