I'm sure i;ve seen something related to this on the boards already...searched but coulndt find it, so now i;m wondering if i did actually see it (even though the search function is wack at times). Anyway...thats the question...is there a way to calibrate the LCD?

I don't even know if you can do this but, how come you want to colibrate the LCD's ?

what's the difference if you just used a monitor?

Not to my knowledge, I've never noticed something in the menus that would do that. I think it's hard coded.

well i;ve seen on the boards where they say the LCD can't really be trusted ect. so i as just wondering if there was a way to have it more ...mmm..."true" in colour.

I dont have an external monitor as yet and i dont really plan to get one unless i get a blade :D (which i want). For monitoring for a director if needs be( cuz for now i;ve been directing what i shoot) i;d prolly just use a portable dvd player or sumthing.

For now i dont really hav a prob with the LCD ...just wanted to know if it can be done.

You would have to look at it from the very same angle every time in order to view consistency.

Exactly! The LCD is actually fairly true to NTSC standards in terms of color and hue, but since the viewing angle can really screw up the brightness and appearance of the image, you really can't use it to judge exposure.

You need to expose using the ZEBRA and/or MARKER functions, perhaps along with a gray card. Maybe even a light meter if you want to get into it.

You set color by accurately doing a manual white balance, and you can trust that, so the color on the LCD really doesn't matter, either.
