Was hoping there is a good book out there with tips and info, instructions, the whole shabang. Is there?

I'd really like to read up on the DVX and how to use it.

its just that i hear you guys talk about f/1.0 this, and losing "stops" that, and depth of field etc. etc. and i got no idea what it all means.

cheers

Have you considered Barry Green's DVX Book and DVD ? It's for sale on Amazon and a dozen other places online. In fact, the author is a moderator here at DVXuser.com Get Barry's book.

Barry's book it the way to go - it explains everything VERY well and the example clips on the DVD do a great job at showing you what is goint on with the settings. As thisiswells said - get Barry's Book.

Barry's book is good, and a must for any DVX owner. But you also need a book on basic video. Barry does not really explain DOF or f-stops or a million other very basic photography terms. Sorry I can't recommend one, I learned all those basics 35 years ago.

Check the links section on the forum -- there are a ton of free websites where you can learn basic video/film jargon.

To learn the DVX, read Barry's book (which comes packaged with the camera now).
