Is the RED Camera the Future of Independent Film?

before I go I am seeking one answer, there are 1000s of filmmakers who use this board, and really? most of them think 4k is a gimmick? it would have never accured to me that so many people would view higher quality and better cameras as gimmicks. hmmm live and learn i guess.

4k as it is presently marketed by RED for the vast majority of micro/low budget filmmakers is a gimmick in the opinion of me ESPECIALLY any suggestion of it being a NECESSITY - that is the opinion of me, a producer and businessman. Those who want to wet their pants looking at 4k focus charts are welcome too... but they are not businessman unless its pivitol for their films success...
