Is the Nikon D600 Made in Japan or Made in China / Thailand ?

A local retailer offers a Nikon D600 kit, but looking at the specs, it reads:

Country of Origin: CHINA|THAILAND


Am I getting a "cheap" version of the D600 here? I know other brands sell similar "made in China" versions which are known to be inferior and need lots of service.

My camera says made in Thailand.
On the box it says Camera, lens and eyepiece made in Thailand, Strap and USB cable made in China.
