According to this video interview, the Sony FE 70-200mm f/4.0 G is parfocal.

Is this true?
Does anyone have more details?

I'd be willing to lose 1 stop in exchange for parfocal...
The description in the B&H listing doesn't mention parfocal.

I'm not sure, but after watching the interview you linked i would think so. I've seen Shawn Lam get pretty picky about parfocal lenses and i imagine if he checked it out and said it's parfocal then it must be. Juan Martinez seemed to confirm it too. Hope so!

I hadn't seen this interview, but i'm really glad to hear about some plans for more high end E-Mount lenses. I shoot alone for the most part, so i love the E-Mount features for focus. But they keep bringing out these slow lenses trying to cater to those who only want SMALL lenses for their small NEX cameras. I'm here going "what about the ones who bought the fs700!" Bring on some high quality lenses, fast lenses!

Seemed to me like the par focal comments weren't regarding the 70-200 specifically but equally for the 18-105 and the forthcoming 28-135 power zoom. On the other hand they didn't say it wasn't either. Sure sounded like it was included in the lens group they were talking about though...

Very interesting what he said about Sony offering the ability to record the FS700 raw signal to several manufacturers... I'm still hoping for a cheaper solution than the 7Q ;)
