is the mos sensors hpx 300 as good than ccd

I was thinking to buy the new HPX 300, to upgrade for my HPX 170, but certainly I am not shure because the new sensors mos that the hvx 300 have.

Really, I am worried about the possible low light situations, and the panning, maybe its not as good as the ccd sensors, somebody to have some experience with this camera can suggest me please.

Thanks a lot.

Pedro.

palllaaaa,

Both of these topics are the most discussed issues regarding the HPX300 here on the forum. Do a quick search here in the HPX300 board for "low light" and "skew" and you'll come up with all the answers you are looking for.

Good luck,
Jim

pedro, in a quick test of the 300 vs 200a at the exact same setting i got a brighter picture on the 300 meaning a more sensitive sensor. i dont know how low light you shoot but I was able to shoot most of an indoor party at -3 db I bumped up to 3db as the sun went down and no more light through windows. In a few dark corners I bumped to 12 but I regret that, wish I had set my high to 6. At 12 the noise was pretty bad. I went shoulder mounted for the better part of two hours and chased a lot of action, while I was cognizant that I should not whip around at 720p i saw no skew.
