is the memory card sold separetly from the HVX?

[FilmBoy77]

was a memory card (i think thas the name - the card that saves the scene settings, etc.) that goes in card slot supposed to come with the hvx200? if not does B&H sell it?

it's not listed under their accesories when i pull up the camera at http://www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh/con...1410&is=REG&si=acc&showAll=1#more_accessories

It doesn't come with one, but it's a commodity item; you can use any SD card.

Make sure that you don't get a SDHC card. Even the smallest capacity SD card will be sufficient for storing the scene files and user settings.

[FilmBoy77]

oh, why is that? what kind are you using?

[THoff]

SDHC (Secure Digital High Capacity) is incompatible with plain SD, and you don't need the 2GB+ storage capacity that SDHC offers.

A 1MB (not GB) card would be plenty for the small text files that are used for scene files and user settings.
