is the lowest f-stop 1.6 or 1.7?

Hi,

On the lens it shows a ratio of 1:1.6.

I understood that 1.6 is the lowerst f-stop (most open without being fully open) on the DVX-100B.

When I turn the iris dial however the lowest I can get is f1.7, is this right?

It depends on what length your zoom is at.

Correct. At full wide angle it'll go to f/1.6 (but it'll probably say "OPEN" instead).
