I haven't installed it yet.

v1.17 is the latest version which has been discussed here. v1.16 has been released only a few days before v1.17 came out and has been discussed in this thread.

No, you can go directly from v1.15 to v1.17. Just tried that out and it worked flawlessly.

just wonder why some one would want to skip any update? is there any specific reason for it? it can bring future harm or something?

The only reason why I skipped v1.16 was that I didn't have the time to install it when it was released (on Jan 12th). Only two weeks later v1.17 was released and so I went from v1.15 to v1.17 directly.

I skipped 1.6 for same reasons as freezeframe...but I have the latest firmware (1.7) ready to update but will skip the process until I shoot some work at the start of the week. Just in cse I mess it up somehow!

No harm in skipping an update anyway. The latest will always be cumulative. It has to be to work as firmware.
