Is the CAC preset right for this lens?

I just assembled our new HPX500 and the Fujinon XA17X7.6BRM lens and I was wondering if the CAC preset "XA17X7.6BERM" is ok for this one (notice we don't have the "E" version with 2x extender).

On the Fujinon Broadcast site they don't even list the BRM lens without extender (I didn't buy the equipment, I'll try to reach the vendor today).
*edit* I found out the XA17X7.6BRM without extender is an OEM lens for the HPX500.

A colleague has to shoot with the camera tomorrow (it's pretty important for him). We planned on getting the camera earlier so we'd have more time to get to know it, but other people here seemingly believe that you don't need more than 15 minutes to get to know a new camera... so we got it today.

We have the same lens. I don't think there's a CAC file for the BRM that doesn't have the extender. I think the CAC file for the extender works for both lens with and without the extender. You should check your focus on your lens. What I've found out is that it doesn't want to focus at the focus mark, but in front of the lens. That doesn't seem right to me.

all zoom lenses have shifting nodal points which shifts the focal plane - I believe this can be controlled in higher end lenses similarly to breathing - but this is not a high end lens - although it performs very well

I'm sorry, but I don't get what you're saying - what focus mark? I could blame it on my English, but I guess I'm just missing some physics here ;)

I checked the back-focus today with an A3 sized siemens star and it seemed to be good (had to shift it up half a milimeter from the factory setting and then it was perfect). But that has nothing to do with the CAC, does it?

Hmmm, I'm getting even more lost here. I never heard of a nodal point, beware of a shifting one... well I just read the wikipedia article on "nodal point" like 10 times and I think I almost get it now. But, if a shifting nodal point shifts the focal plane on all zoom lenses, how come this isn't usually noticeable? Is it just a very slight shift? I mean as soon as the back focus is adjusted, the focal plane is suposed to stay where it is, otherwise you would never be able to zoom in/out without re-adjusting focus, right?

As for the initial problem - we connected the HPX to a fairly good 30" SD studio monitor tonight and found no problems whatsoever in the picture (with the XA17X7.6BERM CAC preset enabled). As the shoot tomorrow will be in SD, not HD, I am pretty sure we won't have any problems.
