Is the a6000 worth it?

I've been working on upgrading my camera for a few months now. I currently use a d5100 which really doesn't cut it. I graduated high school 3 months ago, and I've been making videos/short films ever since middle school, typically using Canons owned by friends, with my d5100 as a secondary cam. I really haven't been impressed with canon recently, so I went searching. I came across a bunch of good reviews of the a6000. It's right in my price range. I've seen a large amount of positive reviews, and a decent amount of not-quite-as positive reviews.

My idea was to get the a6000 and soon afterwords get the Atomos Ninja Star.

My question is this:

Is it worth the cash to get the a6000? Should I wait to see how good the a5100 is? Is there another camera I'm completely overlooking?

P.S. I have about five old vivitar lenses with K mounts. Is there a good adapter for K to E mount? Or should I look elswhere?

Any input is welcome!

The video quality of the a6000 wins over the D5100 hands down, is very good for what are you intent to but the only drawbacks are the lack of the audio input and high compressed video codec, both can be mitigated with the Ninja Star but do you still need a external audio recorder. But there's another option, a little more money but do you don't need the Ninja and can adapt the K mount lenses too, the Lumix GH3, this camera have a good video codec, audio input and earphone output, no time recording limit, the battery last almost a full day and the body is more robust.
And the new Sony a5100 has the same a6000 sensor but better video codec (how can understand Sony?) so maybe the need for the Ninja Star is nonexistent, no audio inputs and no Viewfinder on smaller body.
And of course there's K mount adapter for the E mount. I already own several Fotodiox adapters and none of them give me problems.

If you`re used to recording dual audio, then the a5100 might be a great choice as xenogears already mentioned. The press release also reads, as if they do a full sensor readout, that along with a 50mbit codec in camera, could be a winner. Could, not out yet, not tested.
I researched the a6000 and am still on the fence of getting one as a b/c-cam. Image wise you would do great, getting one.

After looking at the a5100, it just seemed too simple for me. Lacking an external mic jack I can somewhat understand. What really got me was the lack of hot shoe. Granted, I'm still going to consider it, as it's not out yet, and I'm interested in seeing how it performs against the a6000 and a7/r/s. I was originally considering the GH3 at first, but what drew me towards Sony was the sensor size and the general aesthetic. I have to say, I really like the direct-from-camera look of the footage that comes from Sony cameras. I assume there are no plans for a firmware update to the a6000.

After receiving my a7s and playing a bit with it, I'm really, really intrigued by the a5100. I wrote about it in this thread. An a6100 with clean image, EVF and xavc-s would be just lovely (if it also had slog2, I might even sell the a7s).

Sounds like the a5100 would be a decent B cam to an A7s. 12 stops of DR which is good but the image is quite a bit softer from the looks of it. For $550, who could complain? Amazing cameras hitting the market these days.
