Is the 2k raw in 7Q going to be as bad as 2k in sonys raw recorder?

Yeah but im assuming the burst mode in 4k wont work with 7Q, or at least no one from CD ever mentioned from what I know... but it would have been really nice to be able to do 4k in hi frame rates in bursts

I think Dan mentioned it in the first place. So long as the camera does the buffering and writes out at 30fps then i think it would work. Of course like all these things i guess the features and specs are subject to change. So we'll just have to see once the engineers have finished with their magic...

Oh okey, but dont you really need it to write out to 60fps in order get good slow motion? (same reason you would not want to use super slowmotion with maybe atomos recorder since it only does max 30p out)
Im not very experienced so I might be totally lost on this..

In theory it would work the same way as super slow. The camera buffers the high speed internally then it outputs the video at a slower rate. In the case of 1080p it outputs the video at 60p, so 240fps captured internally until the buffer fills then it's output at 60fps. In the case of 4K i don't know. If it buffers and outputs at 30fps then the recorder should be able to record it. If it outputs at 60p then it might not be able too.

EXTREMELY interesting read here...

One of the points made is that one way to increase resolution is not to go to a faux 2k or 4k, but, to increase the frame rate.

This is OLD article I read it before and .. .. I don't care actually... :) as "everybody know how good is to renting Panavision equipment" :cheesy:.. there is nothing for me and you, so forget it! :)
Let's go back to Earth:) - 4K RAW in FS700 is not mainly for FINAL 4K film, but for very good final 1080p !!! ...

... and ..about frame rate - I like to shoot in 30fps..to prevent flicker ... but most of the clients prefer 24... if I will get a chance to shoot 48fps - I would prefer it more than 60 :)
