is something wrong with mine?

my boss got this HMC150 from Panasonic recently - it is brand new - never even been tested. as you hold the camera on the top handle and tilt it back and forth at 45 degree angles there is some clicking noise coming from within the camera body it seems. tilt it up, titlt it down and not to fast or hard even. it sounds like something is loose in there, a very soft clickcing, almost like a can of guiness or a spray paint can. it is toward the lens - seems to be around the zoom thing. it is like a plastic flap is tapping against other plastic. anyone have idea of this?

normal, the OIS (i think) is not engaged. Turn the camera on and you'll notice the sound disappear. That scared a lot of new owners and Pana needs to fix that.

I don't know. I mean it's not broken. That's just how it works. It has to have a free moving part to be offset by the camera's movement when on so it can measure the movement.

But it is a very common question and it goes back to the beginning of the forum for the DVX. We used to have a blast making up fake answers and telling people to do things like keep their camera in a plastic bag overnight until Panny made us stop because they were getting weird customer service calls "I even kept it in a plastic bag over night and I still have the clunk" :)

send it to me IMMEDIATELY i may or may not fix it and either way, ill be doing you a favor, do yourself a favor and just buy a handicam!!!

in case you cant sense my sarcasm....that was sarcasm....youre fine, read the "whats that click" sticky thread.

This is been going on for years.........Started with the DVX. Nothing wrong with the cam just fire it up and it will go away.

Wow, I'm going to get out my pogo ball and roller skates. Any one up for a viewing of Back to the Future? I'm feeling nostalgic all of a sudden.
