Is PH Mode Compatible with Avid MC5?

Just got Panasonic AG-HMC40 and recently installed Avid MC5 so I will be learning how to use both. Beginning to read Barry Green's HMC Book and he mentions (p 135) the Pansonic PH recording mode is newer and may not be 100% compatible with all NLE's yet. Is PH mode compatible within MC5?

I anticipate many challenging moments as I learn to transcode AMCHD to a codec MC5 "likes" (have read much about this) so would at least like to know PH mode will not create any issues within MC5. I plan to do most shooting in PH mode. Dennis
 
It is my understanding (as not an Avid user) that the latest update to MC5 fixes just about everything. There may or may not still be an issue with spanned clips, but I think it's supposed to work otherwise. Hopefully an Avid expert will weigh in.
 
Thanks Barry, and as my inkjet labored through printing selected pages of the HMC40 manual (I downloaded from web rather than look on the CD that came with camera--and I do miss the days when printed manuals were SOP) I am grateful to have your book to supplement/explain the manual. Will also be interested in what the Avid expert(s) have to say about PH mode and Avid MC5.
