Is NAB 2018 cancelled?

This is a very big deal...like there is no question that this camera - without even seeing or reading anything about it - will destroy everything not named ARRI or RED from a pure cinematic image quality standpoint.

You forgot Kinefinity ;-) They might still be better!

Be interesting where the BMPCC4K is priced, and what specs, it might be a close competitor for the Kinefinity Terra 4K (which isn't "pocketable", but at around 5D ish size, is still damn small itself)

I want simple, inexpensive, and amazing for the rest of my life, and that's what these smaller BM cameras have always been.

Even though I like what I saw out of the MAVO, I always thought Blackmagic's quality was better than Kinefinity's.

Also, the TERRA 4K 'Basic Pack' is $5500 and it reminds me too much of my old KineMINI 4K, which I wasn't very happy with.

Cheap cameras are super fun for me because I go through them faster than food. Or I keep them if I love them and have multiple tools in the pelican.

I hope the new BM further bridges the usability gap they’ve had between larger brands. I imagine the new pocket cinema camera will have fantastic IQ, I am curious to see its feature set outside of that and how it practically works compared to a GH5s.

I'm definitely really pumped about the 4K BMPCC... will be a great addition to the family

It's kind of amazing that this kind of camera is being rolled out at NAB rather than Cinegear. A throwback to a different era.

Not sure why...Blackmagic announced new cameras at NAB 2012, 2013, 2014 and 2015.

Many other cameras are announced at that show too (or at least a bit before or they just leak out).

The last thing NAB is these days is only broadcast-related. When you're a big event - no matter which one you are - all eyes on any and all products.

IMO, 'Cine Gear Expo' might be focused and "clean" now, but eventually everyone sells out when they grow to a certain size. If you want to expand you can't forever focus on one part of the industry (unless you're just doing it for fun and have endless capital).
