Is NAB 2018 cancelled?

This is a very big deal...like there is no question that this camera - without even seeing or reading anything about it - will destroy everything not named ARRI or RED from a pure cinematic image quality standpoint.

I can see it having PR RAW too as BM were always PR cameras since the beginning.

I am absolutely lit with excitement right now.

Predictions on release date? I'll cry if I have to wait much longer than 1-2 months. Hopefully they learned something from the URSA Mini release.

There's a press conference on Monday at 9:30am in Vegas...the UMP and URSA Broadcast (last 2 cameras of theirs) were shipping almost immediately so hopefully the "July days" are over.

I think the thing always holding back a raw pocket camera was the data needed for 4k raw. Perhaps ProRos raw is that formula to finally make the camera reality. If that is the case this is going to be one hot little camera. For Mac users of course. You PC folks are screwed. lol

Grant is not stupid. Locking out the PC users would be just that....;-)

The new URSA Broadcast shoots DNxHD so maybe they will include that codec into this new camera.

It looks like Thomas is having a field day! :)

ProRes RAW as an apple exclusive codec doesn't bolster Apple's value. As someone who works back and forth on both platforms, it's merely an annoyance.

Looks like a great codec so would be nice to see it more user and industry friendly.

Cross platform support is one thing. Expecting the deep level of system optimization is always going to be a stretch. I can almost guarantee ProRes raw will never perform as well on a PC as it does on a Mac. If support does come it will likely be third party through ffmpeg or some other means and that will be to just get it to work. Optimization is going to need a much deeper level of integration into the system and thats not something that will be easy t odd on a PC.

Without that optimization no matter what ProRes raw will likely never be as enjoyable to use on a PC.
