is my superdrive dead?

So i've been having a problem with burning DVDs (on my 5 year old ***okay thats probably the problem****) G5. It still reads DVDs and burns them, but the burnt ones dont always work. The weird thing is that i can burn a DVD and it works fine on my laptop and my DVD player at my house. But when i tried to screen some work on someone else's player it didn't work. I just burnt DVDs for a non-profit I shot some work for and they just informed me the disk is skipping on their DVD player as well.

So my guess is that its just time to replace the DVD burner. Can anyone suggest otherwise? Where is a good place to get a superdrive replacement? and how tough is it to install?
