Is my DVX Dying? (Strange chroma flickering)

I will try to post some footage later, but here's my problem:

Some footage I captured today is doing some strange stuff. Alternating from cool blue to warm red (very subtly) every other frame. You can easily see this in the footage itself, but also you can see chroma shift using the scopes in FCP (red goes up, blue goes down, red goes down, blue goes up... grrrr) This happens even on static shots, where it's more noticeable. This footage was shot outdoors in moderate sunlight using the 5600K preset.

My setup:

DVX100 (classic) @ 24pa - 1/48th
Brevis with CF3L
Minolta 200mm @F3.5
F6 default

Now, this is a new lens I am testing, and I was using the internal NDs, which I don't normally do, but I was just messing around. I could even see the color flickering on the LCD in some shots. My in-cam settings are straight F6.

Sorry for the rambling, disjointed post, but has anyone else experienced this weird chroma flickering phenomenon?

And if this is a known error in the DVX, is it fixable (by sending it in for repairs) or am I looking at upgrading to a newer camera? Also, could it be as simple as dirty tape heads?

Ok, children? Unanswered posts are bad, mmmkay?

Here's an animated gif showing the problem. Adjacent frames display a warm/cool shift.

If anybody can chime in with some possible causes/solutions, I would really appreciate it.

I had this problem with my DVX100... I think it's when you're putting too much weight/stress on the stock lens. It would flicker a bit. Also, my the stock mattebox wouldn't go easily.

You might want to see how you can find some more support for your adapter.

Just an idea.

WJM---

I have been having a similar problem lately, only my "flare" (as I've been describing it), only seems to happen on the lower 1/3rd of the frame. If the scene is cool, I get a pink flare. If it's warm, I get a blue flare.

It only seems to happen when the camera is moved suddenly, or if I am using too much "blue" light. For the most part, the camera works fine but I have to keep a watchful eye for it.

I've been considering sending it to Panasonic, but the numbers look like it's going to cost me close to a grand to get it fixed--which leaves me wondering if it's worth it, with me thinking this closely to upgrading.

I feel your pain. Unfortunately, you're the first I've heard of with a similar problem. If I find any other solution, I will be sure to post them.
