Re: Is my computer monitor progressive or interlac
Re: Is my computer monitor progressive or interlac
thats where the problem comes in:
Imagine a regular CRT monitor, that runs at say 75 Hz (Images per second)
and you play 24 or 30 fps video on it (no matter if interlaced or progessive).
There is a timing problem between the monitor refresh rate and the video frame rate which results in jerky images especially in pans.
The solution is to set the monitor refresh rate to a frequency that is a multiply of the frame rate (for 24 fps video I would use 72 Hz).

Re: Is my computer monitor progressive or interlac
true, but 72 Hz should be ok, I think before everybody had LCD-Monitors the recommendation was to run CRTs at a minimum of 75 Hz.
If your screen is capable of displaying at 96 Hz refresh rate, this doesn't hurt either.

Connect your PC with your DVX100 via firewire (i-link) and connect your DVX100 with your tv. Depending on your video editing software, you should be able to see on tv how your final video will look like. Of course, if you are adding transitions, effects etc., you need to render first (unless you have a monster computer with a monster video card). DVX100 is a digital to analog converter and vice-versa.
