hey guys - i know this has kind of been done, but i was wandering now with all the info from NAB out (kinda) do any of you envision the price of the DVX dropping much at all and if so how long do you think before the drop?

I am asking because FINALLY the camera has arrived (I wanted it start of this month from memory) and I will probably pick it up in a couple days.

Considering I was more than happy to pay what i will pay for it a few weeks ago - I don't see myself being disappointed.

I'm just curious now - because I have ordered the camera (yet to pay) - but because the new cameras announced are quite a bit cheaper than expected - will this do anything to the DVX - or would you say the DVX has not really been effected by the announcements?

Justin--stop worrying and start shooting. The price of used DVXs will probably drop a bit--but that would happen anyway, HVX or no HVX. A camera is not an investment, it's a tool. If you want an investment, I'd recommend real estate. The DVX will shoot beautiful SD footage for as long as you own it.

man have i glad to know it wasnt just me who was getting annoyed by me.... - in my defense - because i work a shitty job - I value my $ soo much that it get's stupid...

but ya...

I like your line Barry

'a camera is not an investment, it's a tool'

:)

Price wise the two cameras are not in the same league, in any case. So on the SD front, DVX will remain a leader for quite some time, IMHO.

It remains to be seen, as was reported somewhere that whether the SD video quality of HVX would be at the most at par with DVX or not....as it is afterall an HD camera.

we delivered stuff from the DVX to big networks in the last 6 weeks. everyone is happy even with its 50i footage.
definitely don´t regret to get it: use it, make some dough with it and enjoy.
