is it possible to create a growing arrow in AE or Flash???

I'm trying to figure out how to create a lengthening arrow…where the line grows with time and the arrowhead moves along as the line lengthens and curves. It's to show an invasion map for a WWII documentary. Where armies are illustrated by lengthening arrows in pincer movements.

How would I do it in Flash CS4 or After Effects???

I just can't figure it out. Coming from a Motion 4 background in Apple's Motion 4, I just selected the end point of the line to be a "bevel" or "arrow head" and simply used a "write on" behavior. Is there anything like this in AE or Flash???
Or would I actually have to keyframe the arrowhead to rotate as the line curves?

Thanks very much in advance for any help,

- Nick

Yeah, you'd probably have to use keyframes.

I think they way I'd do it would be to draw the line in completely and then animate a mask to reveal it at the correct speed. I'd then animate the arrowhead to match. If you don't want to do too many complicated turns then you could probably parent the head to the mask so that they move in synchronous. I'm sure there are better ways too.
