Is it possible to burn a 150 min MPEG4 file to a DVD?

I'm trying to burn a 150 minute MPEG4 files to DVD. In Premiere CS3 I compressed my footage down to 3.67 GB and exported the project as 1440x1080 MPEG4 H.264. I attempted burning this to a DVD in Toast 10 but it either only wrote part of the file or gave an error message saying it couldn't burn.

Am I doing something wrong?

What should I do to make it work?
Please help, I cant get it to work  and I feel like breaking something. :badputer:

I tried it four different times tweaking settings and restarting the computer most of those times.

Is the length of the footage the issue?

I converted my file into SD MPEG2 and tried burning it but Toast said the file was too big so I lowered the data rate and tried again but it gave an error message:
Sense key = Medium error
Sense code = 0x73. 0x03.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

is this a data dvd or a video dvd? do you want it to play in a dvd player or a pc?

not that familiar with toast but does it not have a video dvd menu where you can put any compatible file in and it will convert it and burn a video dvd.

possible fix:

have you tried a double layer dvd?

tip:

150 min one layer dvd will not produce very high quality video.

I was burning a video DVD to be played in a DVD player.

Yes Toast has a mode with a DVD menu system and a built in converter and compressor.

I'm not sure if my drive can burn double layer disks or not. I'll have to check and pick up some DL DVDs.

How do they make Hollywood feature films look good on DVD?

ok just use the toast video dvd tap for now, export the best image you can and let toast re-encode and burn the dvd.

later on, you may learn how to export the proper file that will not make toast re-encode the file.(something in the realm of mpeg 2 .ts file with some bitrate limit, sd quality, ntsc or pal frame rate, and a compatible audio file)

Amr Rahmy did you not read my posts? I exported my project from Premiere CS3 as SD MPEG-2 and dropped it into Toast 10 as a video DVD and set the bit rate in Toast the same as my video file and I still had the before mentioned errors when I tried to burn a disk.

don't make the mpeg file yourself, let toast make it for you.

there are other parameters to be met for the mpeg or vob file to work. just let the authoring or buring dvd software do it.
