I recently shot some footage in 24p(advanced) mode, but then I had to mix it with another camera's footage (30i), so I had no choice other then to work in a 30i project in Avid (Xpress pro) and not go with native 24p. I was expecting to see 2:3:3:2 pulldown from the footage I shot on DVX. However what I see is 4 progressive frames followed by 1 interlaced. Which to me says that Avid (even in 30i project) interpreted the footage as 24p, removed the pulldown and then performed the pull-up (is that the technical term?
) and added one frame for every four to make it 30 fps? If that is true it would be amazing, I don't see the reason to use 24p(not advanced) anymore.
