Is it OK to mix modes and ratios on one tape?

I was going to do some extensive testing with all of the various modes (60i, 30P, 24P and 24PA) and ratios (4:3, 16:9 squeeze and 16:9 letterbox). If I shoot all of my footage on the same tape, will that be an issue when it comes to transfering my footage to my NLE (PPro 1.5)? I'm guessing that I would just import each type as separate projects with the appropriate settings made on the NLE side, right?

Thanks! :)

Yup...no problem on the tape itself...just make sure to have the right capture settings for each frame rate.

Just wondering is there in camera text editor of some sort? Well as Paul mentioned he was going to do some testing with variable frame rates and shutters i bet. Now what if he lost track of which shot is 30p and which is 60i ? Bummer.. Yes you could run it through NLE and figure out but my question is about in camera identification. Can i mark my tests? I did tests with my slr and had to write it down on paper each exposure shutter:aperture and so on, i am really looking for an alternative here in dv world.

The DVX tells you in the menu, on playback, what mode you shot in 8)

No text editor like in consumer cameras, but you could probably do something with the User Bits in the timecode if you really wanted to identify certain clips in certain ways. For frame rate it's not necessary because the camera will tell you what mode a clip was shot in.

You could probably just use the internal mic and record with your own voice what the setting are, I usually do that, if I have to do some test, works for me :D
