Is it my HPX170, My computer/graphics/motherboard combo or Monitor?

So I did some test shots on my HPX170 (1st ones) and I'm thinking this problem has got to be my computer because I don't see this on the LCD of the HPX but I do when I play back in premiere CS4... I'm getting jaggies (jagged edges= looks pixelated ) on the arms, some on the face (almost like when you increase the size in photoshop , but not as exaggerated as that just on the edges in movement shots) , basically on the outsides of the arms when the subject is doing movements and it is A: a static shot on Tripod, B: No OIS on, C: when subject starts to move his arms and head is when I see it In premiere-- Now I know focusing on my LCD on the HPX is a no no, right now its what I have , and when I playback (as much as I can tell on a 3.5" lcd) it doesn't look likes it doing it in the camera so I'm guessing its gotta be my computer/graphics card-motherboard or monitor. Anybody know?

Heres some questions: 1. Do you need an HD monitor to playback HD material shot with the HPX170?

2. Do you need a graphics card in order for it to playback correctly? (I know a CRT pro model monitor would be recommended but once again, this is what I have right now & I want to shoot! lol ) My graphics are integrated but it is HD radeon 3300, I would think having HD in the name would mean I could playback HD material without problems like these.

3. I have a dual boot because the great people at panasonic's decided not to support win xp64 so I dual boot with vista 64 ultimatte and used the Vista to grab the P2 Footage ( actually, after downloading the P2 drivers and viewer and what not, I just inserted the camera in USB port and copied the entire CONTENTS folder onto my C drive running xp64 and opened in Premiere CS4 - that shouldnt have damaged the videos could it?)

Below is my monitor and graphics motherboard combo, let me know if you think that is the culprit! Any help would be appreciated.. I want my footage to look like it does on the P2 card!

Specs:
ATI RADEON HD 3300 INTERGRATED GRAPHICS/MOTHERBOARD ASUS M4A78-E

Acer AL2223WD 22" Widescreen LCD Monitor - 5ms, 800:1, WSXGA+ 1680x1050, Silver·Black, DVI-D, VGA, Integrated Speakers

Is this the same footage you were asking about having accidently shot in 24p and not 24pN?

IE: are you sure it's not interlacing every 4/5th frame?

I don't own a p2 camera (at least not until UPS gets here today) but that would be my guess based on DVX footage I've done that with.

Check the properties of your clips. 29.97 or 23.976?

yes its the 24p footage not the 24pn..but i havent checked all of them yet..

I just checked the properties in premiere CS4 and it says this:
do you think where it says frame rate 29.97 (24p) = could that be the issue?? Is it somehow being seen as 24p but playing back at 29.97? I dont know..
any help is appreciated.

You just got an HPX right? So your HVX/HPX book should be in sight. Start on page 18. :D

Seriously though, in short, you have 30fps files shot in a certain way to achieve a 24p look. Barry's bit on this in the book explains it really well. You can still use (and produce) 24fps files, but you need to remove the pulldown. I think I remember a feature in Premiere where you can straight out click 'remove pulldown' in the interpret footage menu. All is not lost. There are just a few extra steps to get your files running smoothly as full progressive frames in a 24fps timeline.

thanks for the help kidwoo.. I thought I did read correctly and premiere pro CS4 does the automatic remove pulldown so that cant be it (I think) .. I cant figure this out!?

ok, what are they!??!? lol

by the way, do you use cs4 premiere (master collection) ? have you ever used 24p p2 HD footage in premo?
