so last week i was shooting and the director asked me to shoot some timelapse while we were waiting on something, so like usual i hit the S&Q dial and execute, try to dial down to 1fps but it doesnt let me go pass 17fps, i can go 17-60fps and thats all.
i check all my sending and cant see anything different.
i check my other F3 and same thing, I call my friend and ask him to check his camera, same thing.
the common variable with all 3 cameras is firmware V1.4, today i called up the local rental house and their camera goes from 1-60fps, very strange! they are checking their other F3 as well.

can the F3 owners check their cameras and post if their camera is stoping at 17fps please?

i have talked to Sony on friday and waiting a response.

Thanks in Advance.

Just checked mine (PAL) and it goes down to 1fps at 1920 or up to 50fps at 1280?
Have you tried the (time-lapse) "interval recording" function from the menu and set it to 1 frame each second?
If that works it'll do the same thing until you find out why the S&Q dial stops at 17fps....

i got a call back from the local rental company(thanks Dan for checking) one of their F3s had the issue and the other didn't, i asked him to copy the camera data over to the one with the issue and now both are working properly.
he is emailing me the camera data so i can put on my camera.
if anyone else is having this issue PM your email and i'll send the camera data to you.

I notice last week while teaching someone how to change frame rates. I didn't make mush of it since I don't think I'll use time lapse on this camera, but it will be nice to know the fix.

Could be a glitch from having your sdi set to dual link 444 rgb? (if I remember I think 17fps is the lowest frame rate you can record out of the dual link 444 mode) Just a guess.

weird that this is happening, it would make more sense to me if you were trying to higher frame rates.
anyway Douglas suggested I turn off the dual link and 1.5g all together and that seem to work.
