Great post. Totally agree. Though there are some stats that demonstate a $15 million movie is the "sweet spot," giving it a profit edge over both the $5 million movie and the $25 million movie. Though, I do wonder if these stats are again from the "arty studio movie" and not the true independent film. Because how can a good $15 million film compete against a great one that cost twenty grand (in terms of PROFIT margin that is...obviously the multi-million dollar one can out compete the tiny indie in a lot of other ways, like marketing and production values).
