is Film-Rec a LOG capture or Rec.709

With the varicam f and h, is the film rec feature a log curve or a rec709?

The originals(27 F/H and 2700) don't shoot a true log profile. They can shoot a flatter profile and different gamma curves, but it's still not log.

It is essentially REC709 with the knee disabled to open up the top couple of stops without clamping. Sony had a version of it as well that it called Hyper Gamma or REC709 (800%).
