Is DVD burning Legal?

Go to afterdawn.com and download DVD Shrink. It's fast, easy, and all you need for backups. The quality is great too.

DVD Shrink is a versatile freeware tool for fitting a DVD-Video disc on a single DVD-R. (lots of compression)

As I said if you use a dual layer burner and use nero with anydvd .. then the quality is same as original almost (accounting for mild decrease for it actually being a copy - my experience says 99.9 per cent perfect)... its a 1 to 1 copy .. 0 compression.

If you dont have dual layer they are so cheap now.. you may as well. great for an additional 8.7 gb of space per dvd if you need it also.

DL is great (I have one) if you don't mind paying a premium for the media still - not to mention the limitation of +R burns which would preclude playback on any of my set top players too.

As far as I know you're allowed to burn 1 backup of any software you own as long as it's in the intention of a backup.
