is "desert car kings" made with dslr cams?

hi there. i just saw this on the discovery homepage, a few clips from the show "desert car kings" and i think it looks kinda dslr-ish, with the low depth of field and so on.

so i was just wondering if anyone here knows if this is filmed on a dslr camera?

and if so, which one(s)?

or is it just me that thinks it looks like it?:huh:

nothing about this looks dslr. the DOF isnt shallow One of 2 shots have moderately shallow DOF that can be achieved with any 1/3 or 2/3 video camera ( i do that easily with my dvx). they are also freely zooming. yes u can zoom with photo lenses but it does not look like that. the movement of the camera in handheld mode also looks nothing like dslr. this is a video camera.

well, after a closer look i might just think your'e right, it's probably video. my bad. but it does have some pretty shallow dof here and there though i think, that's what got me in the first place.

anyway, nothing to see here then, move along

Looks like a small handheld cam, maybe Sony.

Hey All,

Desert Car Kings is shot using the Sony Z7U. Many of the time-lapse or "bump" shots are shot using a Canon 5D...however, the majority of the content of the show is obtained using the Z7U.

They then do a little color correcting in post.
