hello i normally use a rode videomic with mu gh3 an di like it.for me it is a good quality, though has a limit that cannot be close to the subject when it is really needed
I was thinking to get an audio recorder like tascam dr05 (or zoom equivalent)
But i 'd like to know if recording straight whit the tool has a quality comparable to videomic
Only if it is a really good sound i will accept the more job to do for syncing audio and video in editing
thanks

What I often do for interviews is record audio to the Zoom H4n, and send that output to the camera so I have it twice.

yes i know that this could semplify(not.for every situation though).
but my question is about quality. is tascam dr05 as good as a videomic?

I find the distance between the mic and the speaker to be more important for good audio but to answer you specific question, I have used both in the same shoot and it worked ok but it did take a little work with Audition (or audio track fx in Premier) to get the two sound similar. My Videomic has a deeper, fuller sound that the Tascam. I would do a quick test with you as the subject and then judge the difference. I don't have a GH3 but used the Tascam with my GH2 a few times audio sounded a little better on the Tascam but with the GH4 I rarely use it. I still use the Tascam when I want a voice over track only but I plug in the Videomic and the sound is quite good.

All mics have to be close to your subject to record good audio, and by close I mean no more than 3 feet from the person. ( Ideally you want this to be less than 2 feet if possible )

So this means booming your mic above / beside / below your subject, or using a LAV mic which can be attached to the subject's clothing. The Tascam DR-05 recorder can power and record audio from a LAV mic.

If your budget is tight, then you can use just the Tascam DR-05 recorder and boom this above / beside / below your subject. Just make sure that one of the DR-05 mic capsules is pointing directly at the person speaking.

I find the built in mics of the dr40 are better but when using an external mic into either they sound the same to me. To me the real benefit of the dr40 is xlr inputs and the ability to record to 4 tracks.

The DR-05 is surprisingly good for the price. I get fantastic SFX and ambient environment recordings from it. It's a really good live music recorder too.
But it's not great for speech because neither mic is pointing directly at the person when you point the thing at them. Yes, you can just turn it sideways a bit and have one mic facing directly at them, just don't confuse which side it is later on!
