Is anybody still working on a firmware hack?

I haven't seen any updates on or discussion of the firmware hack that I have been looking forward to to unleash the true video power of my GH2. Weren't there funds raised for this at some point? Is it still being pursued?
 
Yes, with about 98% probablity, as soon as we'll have body (most probably we'll need two of them for some tests on surviving one).
 
HI,
I hope a higher bitrate (in future firmware hack) will resolve BANDING. I had an hacked GH1 and banding disappear when press REC button.

I was growling about the difficulty in matching unhackable GH1 to GH2's 24p. It would be awesome to apply Blackout-Powell Native 24p Patch.

I'm itching to donate more!!!

Thanks for the link, but I can't access vimeo from work and my phone can't play it either.

There have been endless discussions about 24p hate and love. I like 24p only if each frame can capture good details. High details + motion jitter is a-ok.

I like GH2's 1080p24 mode. Unhacked GH1's 1080p30 requires dropping frames to match to 24p where its bitrate is already low. I've been thinking about selling my GH1 WE0L model, but this latest gossip changed it all. 24p from start to end. Sorta bake a cake and eat it too.
 
Other than matching the frame rates, I also like GH13's high bitrate 720p60. It makes a huge difference when conforming to 23.976 fps or 0.4x speed.
 
GH1 has quite bright future, as I hope to transfer to t some knowledge that we already have from dumping and will have from GH2 and other cameras.
