I'm just trying to wrap my head around the mb/seconds.

Mine is 22mb/sec , but some people recommend 30mb/sec for the hack. Is my card too slow?

Simple yes a simple no, would help. Sorry for being a total newb about it, I'm just afraid of having a 400$ paperweight that looks like a gh1...

I should point out, that I know that everyone always recommends class 10, sandisk, I'm just trying to understand what the difference is between 22 to 30. Is it a huge difference, or should I not use specific patches because the card might be too slow

I would definitely not use a card rated at less than the require data rate. You'll be risking data loss.

Any Class 6 and higher SD card is fast enough for the Reliable In-Camera Playback Patch. It records at a maximum bitrate of 44mbps. Your Class 10 Panasonic SDHC card is rated at 22MBytes per sec, not 22mbits per sec. 22MBps is equal to 176mbps, and is a much faster bitrate than any stable GH1 patch uses.

I've been using a Panasonic Class 10 card with the Reliable In-camera Patch and have had no problems at all.
